Elchin Huseynli, the newly appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Maldives, presented his credentials to President Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held at the President’s Office in Malé.

Following the ceremony, Ambassador Huseynli made a courtesy visit to Moosa Zameer, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives. Minister Zameer congratulated Elchin Huseynli on his appointment and highlighted the importance of strengthening the long-standing bilateral relations and enhancing future cooperation between the Maldives and Azerbaijan.

During their meeting, they discussed further collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including increasing people-to-people contact, enhancing connectivity, cultural cooperation, and joint efforts on environmental and climate change issues. The FM also expressed a keen interest in finalizing the proposed tourism MoU and visa exemption agreement with Azerbaijan.
