Pakistani Prime Minister forms committee for swift implementation of agreements with Azerbaijan

Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has established a committee to expedite the implementation of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements signed with Azerbaijan during his recent visit to Baku.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, will lead the committee, which will oversee agreements in the energy and infrastructure sectors between the two countries.
Chairing a high-level meeting on Tuesday, the Prime Minister instructed the relevant authorities to present an action plan aimed at increasing Pakistan-Azerbaijan trade volume to $2 billion.
During the meeting, it was noted that a joint business forum held in Baku during the Prime Minister's visit was attended by 83 Pakistani and 101 Azerbaijani companies. A total of 13 agreements and MoUs were signed between the two nations.
Shehbaz Sharif also directed officials to finalize preparations for the visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan in April.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, emphasizing his government’s commitment to maximizing trade and investment opportunities with Azerbaijan and the broader Central Asian region.
