Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar meets Senior Chinese officials in Beijing

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met with senior Chinese officials in Beijing on Tuesday as part of his three-day official visit to China. The discussions revolved around regional developments following the Pakistan-India ceasefire and reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to upholding the UN Charter and international law to maintain peace and stability in the region.
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Senator Dar held a key meeting with Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC). During the talks, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed appreciation for China’s consistent support of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to a peaceful neighborhood while emphasizing Pakistan’s right and ability to protect its territory and citizens.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister underlined the need for the international community to take note of India’s unilateral and illegal decision to place the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) in abeyance. He stressed that the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions, remains vital for lasting peace in South Asia.
He appreciated IDCPC’s instrumental role in facilitating exchanges between the CPC and political parties of Pakistan. In view of the 74th anniversary of the establishment of Pakistan-China diplomatic ties being celebrated on 21 May 2025, both sides underlined the unique nature of the Pakistan-China friendship and agreed to continue endeavoring for passing it on to the younger generation of the two countries.
