Participants of the International Baku Forum of Ombudsmen themed “Climate Change and Human Rights: The Role of Ombudspersons and National Human Rights Institutions” visited the Alley of Honor and the Alley of Martyrs on Wednesday.

They visited the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of modern, independent Azerbaijan, and laid a wreath and flowers at his grave.

The Forum participants also placed flowers at the grave of renowned ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

The visitors then proceeded to the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity.

They were informed about the history of the Alley of Martyrs.
