Political, economic, and social matters discussed at 50th Session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers

The 50th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) commenced on Thursday in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon.
Based on a report from the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, that the agenda of this session, which is held under the slogan "Developing transport and communications infrastructure within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation: a tool to combat poverty and insecurity", includes a discussion on political, economic and social issues, as well as the challenges currently facing the Islamic world.
The participants in the meeting will discuss, in particular, the latest developments in the Palestinian issue, the Middle East peace process and the evolving situation in Afghanistan and the Sahel region.
The two-day meeting also addresses issues related to disarmament, cooperation between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international and regional organizations and groupings, and the Declaration of Human Rights of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
It also includes continuing efforts to combat international terrorism, reform of the United Nations and expansion of the UN Security Council, “Islamophobia” and the situation of Muslim groups and minorities in countries that are not members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
In addition to the OIC Program of Action for the year 2025, the Council will discuss decisions related to humanitarian, legal, administrative, financial, scientific, technological and cultural issues
