PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES PARTICIPANTS OF REGIONAL CONFERENCE OF ORGANIZATIONS OF RUSSIAN COMPATRIOTS IN SOUTH CAUCASUS
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received participants of the regional conference of the organizations of Russian Compatriots in the South Caucasus.The President said that Azerbaijan considers interethnic concord and peace as the basis of its successful development. He emphasized that today, when the country has achieved substantial progress in solving economic and social problems, ``it is very important that Azerbaijan develop as open and democratic state, in which all nations feel well.`` ``As the President, I attach a great significance to this,`` Ilham Aliyev especially noted.
Touching upon Azerbaijan-Russia relations, the Azerbaijani leader described them as an important factor of positive processes in his country. “Dynamic development of friendly and good neighborly relations has a positive impact on sentiments within society, including in terms of interethnic relations, and is an important factor of stability in the South Caucasus,`` the President said.
He especially stressed that the conference of the organizations of Russian Compatriots is rightly being held in Baku, and Azerbaijan is the home to the largest Russian community in the South Caucasus.
