On June 21, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received at the Presidential Palace renowned Kazakh poet, scholar and public figure Oljas Suleymenov.

The Azerbaijani leader announced that for his contributions to strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, the poet was awarded the Order of Glory, the highest award of the republic of Azerbaijan.

”You were with the people of Azerbaijan in the country’s most difficult times, and have always taken unambiguous stance on the issue of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. We never forget and highly value it. The people of Azerbaijan love you; your creative work and civil stance are worthy of profound respect,” President Ilham Aliyev said presenting Oljas Suleymenov with the medal.

The poet expressed gratitude for the high award, and said: “My every visit to Azerbaijan makes me feel happy, and I am really pleased to witness dynamic development in Azerbaijan.” Olzhas Suleymenov, in his turn, presented President Ilham Aliyev with his newly published book.
