President Saratoga Foundation: The trajectory of relations between the U.S. and Azerbaijan over the past year has been remarkable

"It has been a great year of development. In just one year, Azerbaijan and U.S achieved so much, including the visit of the U.S Vice President to Baku. Honestly, it can’t get any better than that. Both presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan visited in the White House. Relations are on a very good trajectory right now,” President and Chairman of the Saratoga Foundation Glen Howard told AZERTAC regarding the anniversary of the meeting of the leaders of the United States, Azerbaijan and Armenia at the White House on August 8 last year.
"The U.S is obviously getting closer to Azerbaijan and Armenia. The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) is going to strengthen America’s role in the South Caucasus in terms of economic cooperation and will play a big role in helping to bring about more economic connectivity between the South Caucasus and the Caspian region with Türkiye. Right now, there is a war related to Iran. But maybe, that war will probably end soon and there will be a normalization process. So everybody in the region will benefit from all the economic connectivity.
"The transit routes that are going through the region are going to benefit Baku. Baku is helping to facilitate this. So Azerbaijan's relationship with the region is overall the best it's ever been. That's why Azerbaijan is a rising power in the South Caucasus. It's very important in terms of the whole relationship. The U.S just is basically continuing to deepen its relationship with Azerbaijan. It's been a remarkable one year. Many of the obstacles to relations have been removed. So, I can only see this continuing to develop further. With the waiver of Section 907 sanctions, hopefully we will see them permanently lifted. The trajectory of relations between the U.S and Azerbaijan over the past year has been remarkable."
