Representatives of Azerbaijani political parties meet PACE Monitoring Committee’s co-rapporteurs
Baku, May 20 (AZERTAC). Members of the political parties represented in the Azerbaijani Parliament have today met co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee Pedro Agramunt Font de Mora and Joseph Debono Grech.
The Azerbaijani MPs highlighted the situation in the region. They condemned the continuing occupation of the Azerbaijani lands by the Armenian armed forces, and the violation of rights of more than one million Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs. They also expressed regret over the fact that the efforts of international organizations towards solving the dispute had produced no results.
The MPs said Armenia had ignored all resolutions of the UN Security Council and other international organizations on the dispute.
They also expressed regret that no sanctions had ever been imposed against Armenia.
The parliamentarians also praised the Council of Europe-Azerbaijan relationship.
They noted that Azerbaijan had made considerable contribution to the activities of the Council of Europe, adding the country had always been committed to its obligations to the organization.
