Russian ambassador’s escort car drives into mine in Pakistan, policemen injured

An escort car of Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev has run into a mine in northern Pakistan, TASS reported citing the Russian embassy.
"An escort car drove into a mine while on its way to a hotel from the city of Mingora. Several policemen were injured. Russian diplomats were not hurt," the embassy wrote on its Telegram channel.
Later the Geo TV reported, citing the local police, that at least one police officer dies and four others received wounds as a result of the explosion of a makeshift explosive device in Pakistan’s Swat District on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to the Geo TV reports, the attack targeted a motorcade with foreign diplomats. Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev was among them. the device detonated near an escort car, killing one police officer and leaving four more wounded.
Neither of the diplomats were hurt.
The Russian embassy in Islamabad said earlier that Khorev was visiting norther Pakistan within a delegation of ambassador from a number of countries. He took part in a forum on tourism development in the Swat Valley in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that was organized by the Pakistani Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
