Speaker Öztürkler: “We commend Azerbaijan’s decision to set up friendship group with Northern Cyprus”

“The Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is taking its rightful place in the Turkic World. We highly value the decision of the leaders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) to grant observer status to Northern Cyprus and look forward to further strengthening our relations, including interparliamentary cooperation,” said Ziya Öztürkler, Speaker of the TRNC Assembly, as he addressed the 14th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic States (TURKPA) held in Astana, Kazakhstan, under the theme “TURKTIME: The Role of Parliamentary Diplomacy.”
Ziya Öztürkler praised the Azerbaijani Parliament’s decision to establish an interparliamentary friendship group with Northern Cyprus, calling it a significant step and an important example of bilateral cooperation.
The TRNC Speaker also emphasized TURKPA’s role in advancing the shared goals of the Turkic States. He reaffirmed Northern Cyprus’ commitment to actively contributing to the implementation of the “Vision of the Turkic World 2040” concept.
