Tajikistan, Russia to sign agreements on migration, duty-free deliveries of oil products in Q1 2013
Baku, January 18 (AZERTAC). The Tajik-Russian agreement on duty-free delivery of oil products from Russia to Tajikistan and the agreement on migration are supported to be signed during the first quarter of 2013, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said following the meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on Thursday.
“The process and agreements meet the time frame,” he said.
Russian-Tajik agreements in military, economic and humanitarian spheres weer discussed during the talks, according to Lavrov.
A particular attention was paid to implementation of the bilateral cooperation documents signed last October during Russian President Putin`s visit to Dushanbe. The sides expressed satisfaction over trade turnover between two countries, which exceeded $1 billion last year.
“The main topic of the Russian Foreign Minsitry`s visit to Dushanbe is continuation of the dialogue on implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of President Putin to Tajikistan. We have given concrete tasks for relevant structures of both countries,” Tajik Foreign Minister Khamrohon Zarifi said.
The agreement on term of stationing and status of the 201st Russian military base in Tajikistan will be ratified by the Parliaments of Tajikistan and Russia after signing of the agreements on duty-free oil products deliveries and labor migration, Zarifi said.
Cooperation prospects in neutralization of the threats emanating from Afghanistan were also discussed at the meeting with the President of Tajikistan. “We have discussed reinforcement of the Tajik-Afghan border after 2014,” Sergey Lavrov added.
Lavrov arrived in Dushanbe on Wednesday night. The Russian and Tajik Foreign Ministers signed the cooperation program between the Foreign Ministries for 2013 following the talks in Dushanbe.
