TRILATERAL AGREEMENT MAY PLAY A BASIC ROLE IN DETERMINATION OF CASPIAN LEGAL STATUS
Heads of the delegations made short statements at the 11th session of the special working group on elaboration of the Convention for Caspian legal status held in Ashgabad.
Head of Azerbaijanian delegation, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Khalaf Khalafov said that they highly appraise regular character of these meetings.
Triulateral agreement signed between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia may play an important role in determination of the Caspian legal status.
Then, Khalafov said, “ we welcome bilateral dialogue held separately between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan; Iran and Turkmenistan; Azerbaijan and Iran. We set hopes on resumption of the dialogue between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on sectors division of the Caspian Sea”.
