‘Trilateral cooperation of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Georgian defence ministries contributes to regional development’

Tbilisi, April 3, AZERTAC
“Trilateral cooperation of Azerbaijani, Turkish and Georgian defence ministries contributes to the development of the region in the political, economic and cultural fields,” Azerbaijani Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov has told a press conference following a trilateral meeting with his Turkish and Georgian counterparts in Tbilisi.
The Minister said they discussed issues of education, ways of improving preparedness, defensive and combat capabilities of the armed forces, and regional security.
Mr. Hasanov said: “Today Armenia is a sole country in the region that implements aggressive policy against Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia. We should pay special attention to this issue.”
Georgia Minister of Defence Mindia Janelidze hailed the trilateral meeting. He said his country was committed to strengthening and developing the cooperation. “We believe that such meetings would contribute to common development of three countries” he added.
Turkish Minister of National Defence Ismet Yılmaz said such meetings opened new opportunities to expand the scope of cooperation. Mr. Yilmaz noted that the third meeting would be held in Turkey late this year.
