The UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons Walter Kalin on 2 April visited the Alley of Honors to revere memory of the nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, and laid a wreath at his tomb.

The guests also laid flowers on grave of the renowned ophthalmologist, Academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

The same day, Mr. Walter Kalin visited the Alley of Martyrs to honor memory of the courageous sons of Azerbaijan who fell for freedom and independence of Motherland.

Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, head of the State Committee for the affairs of refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov, the UN resident-coordinator in Azerbaijan, head of the UNDP Program in the country Bruno Pouezat and other official accompanied the guest.
