USA KEEN IN CONTINUATION OF POLITICAL, ECONOMIC AND ENERGY CO-OP WITH AZERBAIJAN
FM of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov Friday met with the delegation led by U.S. Assistant Deputy Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Matthew Bryza.
In meeting, discussed were issues of USA-Azeri bilateral relations, regional safety, transportation of Caspian energy reserves to European markets, prospects of international cooperation in energy field.
M. Bryza said his country is keen in continuation of further cooperation in the political, economic and energy spheres.
Noting the importance of geo-strategic position of Azerbaijan, Minister Mammadyarov said Azerbaijan is not only an energy exporter, but also an oil-gas transit country.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the Azeri Minister noted the destructive position of Armenia, delay of which impedes peaceful solution of the problem and development of region.
In meeting, also discussed were other questions of mutual concern.
