Vaira-Vike Freiberga: Global Baku Forum discussions vital for world’s development

Baku, March 15, AZERTAC
“The 12th Global Baku Forum allows us to establish direct contacts and share perspectives. While we may see the world differently, we can reach a common understanding of what is good and evil, what is permitted, and what is prohibited,” said Vaira Vike-Freiberga, former President of Latvia and Co-Chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, in an exclusive interview with AZERTAC.
Emphasizing the Forum’s role as a unique platform for dialogue, she described its discussions as essential for the proper development of the world.
“We are not a government or an executive body. We have no army, nuclear weapons, or firearms. What we do have are ideas and openness to dialogue, through which we strive to find solutions. I would say we act like doctors, with the world order as our 'patient.' What is its diagnosis? What are its symptoms? Where should we start to heal it? Every participant at the Forum has their own sphere of influence and international connections. This helps find solutions to problems and accelerates their constructive resolution,” Vike-Freiberga stated.
