VASILIY ISTRATOV: “DURING MY TENURE AS AMBASSADOR TO AZERBAIJAN, RELATIONS BETWEEN OUR COUNTRIES GOT BETTER”
Baku, March 13 (AZERTAC). Russian ambassador in Azerbaijan Vasily Istratov stated with satisfaction that relations between the two countries during his term of office got better.
“I spent two years and half in Azerbaijan, and leaving this country, I am pleased to note that over this period relations between our countries improved even more,” Istratov told a briefing devoted to completion of his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.
The diplomat stressed the contribution of heads of states to improvement of Azerbaijan-Russia relations.
Istratov was appointed Russian ambassador in May 2006. The Diplomat arrived in Baku later in July.
In accordance with Dmitry Medvedev`s decree, Vladimir Dorokhin will replace Istratov. The New ambassador will arrive in Baku in late March.
