Yalchin Rafiyev: One of the main expectations for COP30 is the preparation and delivery of a $1.3 trillion roadmap from Baku to Belém

“One of the main expectations for COP30 is the preparation and delivery of a $1.3 trillion roadmap from Baku to Belém, in collaboration with our Brazilian counterparts. In this regard, we have initiated an open consultation process. We’ve held discussions with governments, NGOs, the business sector, public institutions, and philanthropic organizations. At the same time, we’ve met with numerous banks,” said Deputy Foreign Minister and COP29 Lead Negotiator Yalchin Rafiyev in an interview with AZERTAC at the UN Bonn Climate Change Conference.
Rafiyev noted that since our official calls for input, we have received contributions from 114 states and organizations, NGOs, and the business sector. “We will try to incorporate these discussions and reports into the roadmap and prepare the final document. This document will be presented to the COP30 Presidency in Belém. The negotiations held during the Bonn session constitute important support for the preparation of that document.”
