Baku, January 27 (AZERTAC). The Youth Wing of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) appealed to the French President Nicolas Sarkozy and parliament of this country with the call “Recognize Khojaly genocide!”. The photos reflecting the tragedy were attached to the appeal.
The document says: “At night from February 25 to 26 the Armenian armed forces attacked Khojaly city of Azerbaijan. As a result of this atrocious attack 613 Khojaly residents were killed, 487 became disabled, 1275 people - olds, women, children among them were taken hostages. The fates of 150 of them are still unknown. Out of 613 people killed in Khojaly 106 were women, 63 children, 70 old. 8 families were completely annihilated, 24 children lost both parents, 130 children lost one of the parents.
Note: 20 percent of Azerbaijan`s territories was occupied by Armenian armed forces. Over one million Azerbaijanis have become refugees and IDPs, over twenty thousand were killed. Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan was condemned in four resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council, and these documents demands liberation of occupied territories. OSCE Minsk Group was established to achieve the peaceful solution of the conflict in 1992. But Azerbaijan`s territory still remains under occupation by Armenia.
France is one of the co-chairs of OSCE Minsk Group. We ask: You, French legislators, when will you express your attitude to Khojaly genocide? As co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group when will France demand from Armenia to withdraw its army from the occupied Azerbaijani territories?”
