2004 DECLARED “YEAR OF AZERBAIJAN” IN BELGIUM
Azerbaijan house in Belgium engaging in lobbyism prepared plan of different arrangements for wider familiarization with Azerbaijan, in 2004. Mr. Gurjam stated that revering ceremony on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of January 20 tragedy was organized in Brussels, where the most authoritative organizations of world and Europe are located. On February 26, arrangement on Khojali Genocide will be held in front of the European Parliament.
Besides, cultural arrangements are planned to hold and festivities on the occasion of Novruz Bayrami organized.
On the initiative of the government of Belgium, exhibition of the works of art, films and other cultural heritage of the peoples of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia will be organized. At the international language festival to be held in Brussels, the Belgium children will be informed on details of Azerbaijan language.
Bulent Gurjam stated that his structure aspires to contribute in development of the relations between Azerbaijan and Belgium, as well as the European countries. In this connection, close cooperation with Diaspora organizations of Germany, France, Holland and other European countries will be established.
Azerbaijan House in Belgium envisages issuing of newspaper “Avropa Khabar” in Baku to minutely inform the public of Azerbaijan on its work.
