Azerbaijani Embassy in US attends Passport DC festival VIDEO

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States opened its doors to local and foreign guests as part of the “Passport DC – Around the World Embassy Tour” festival held in Washington, D.C.
The festival, traditionally organized every year, serves as a vital platform for promoting diverse cultures and fostering mutual understanding among nations.
As part of the event, Kimberly A. Bassett, Secretary of the Washington DC, visited the Azerbaijani Embassy, to familiarize herself with Azerbaijani culture and national cuisine.
Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Ibrahim presented a painting by Azerbaijani artist Nubar Azimova, dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the United States and US-Azerbaijan bilateral ties.
Ambassador Khazar Ibrahim highlighted the special symbolic significance of the moment, noting that the ceremony took place by a tree planted by Hafiz Pashayev, Azerbaijan’s first Ambassador to the United States. He underlined that Hafiz Pashayev, who currently serves as the Rector of a leading Azerbaijani higher education institution, played a pivotal role in establishing the foundation for the friendship and strategic partnership that defines U.S.-Azerbaijan relations.
The sides exchanged views on the importance of cultural cooperation and the contribution of such initiatives to enhancing friendly ties between the two countries.
Kimberly A. Bassett hailed the active participation of the Azerbaijani Embassy in such events.
As part of the event, members of the Azerbaijani community performed national dances, also presenting a musical program. Participants were also introduced to traditional national costumes and provided with detailed information on history and unique characteristics.
Over 1,000 guests visited the Azerbaijani Embassy, where they received extensive information on Azerbaijan's ancient history, multicultural values, art, music, national traditions and tourism potential. Attendees were also provided with printed materials, gaining insights into the country's achievements in modern development and international cooperation.
