Azerbaijani flag raised in center of Chicago to mark Independence Day

The National Flag of Azerbaijan has been raised in Chicago on 28 May - the country`s Independence Day.

According to the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, the ceremony, which took place in the famous Richard J. Daley Center, was organized by the Azerbaijan Center of Midwest America (ACMA).

Azerbaijani tricolor flag was raised under the sounds of the National Anthem.

The head of ACMA Farid Mammadov noted that the flag-raising project, which has become a tradition, is organized every year on important and historical days of Azerbaijan.
