BUNDESTAG DELEGATION ARRIVES IN AZERBAIJAN
The upcoming visit and prospects of German-Azerbaijani economic relations development were in the focus of the press conference held the other day by Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of Germany to Azerbaijan Claus Grevlich.
The Ambassador noted that in the course of the visit, the members of the Bundestag are expected to meet with speaker of the Milli Majlis Murtuz Alaskarov, Chairman of the Milli Majlis’ Standing Commission for Economic Policy Sattar Safarov, as well as visit Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economic Development, State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, and meet with representatives of different public organizations.
He also told the press conference that the aim of the visit is to familiarize with the results of the joint Azerbaijani-German projects implemented in Imishli province, and to visit refugee camps located in Sabirabad. Mr. Grevlich stated that the government of Germany had allocated 270 million Euro to assist Azerbaijan’s economy, including 108 million already spent for development of financial relations between the two countries.
‘Azerbaijan has a vast economic and human potential. Within the last years, the leadership of the republic has taken actions resulting in enhancing the reputation of Azerbaijan. German businessmen are very concerned with making large investments, and I hope the upcoming visit will contribute to the development of all-sided relations between Germany and Azerbaijan’, said Mr. Claus Grevlich added.
