FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS WITH LATVIAN DELEGATION
According the Ministry’s press service, Minister Vilayat Guliyev pointed out the dynamic development of the bilateral relations and said the mutual visits made positive contributions to cooperation in political, economic, cultural and other spheres.
Deputy State Secretary Andris Teikmanis stressed Latvia attaches great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan, and pointed out the necessity of its deepening. He also noted his country was expected to join the European Union and NATO, and stated on his intention to share positive experience with Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Mr. Vilayat Guliyev noted with regret that the sixteen years lasting Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was still unresolved, and updated the guest on the problems aroused from the conflict – occupation of Azerbaijan’s territories, and hard living conditions of refugees and internally displaced people.
The parties have also discussed a number of other issues of mutual interest.
