INT’L BIOETHICS CONFERENCE ENDS
The International Conference “Protection of Human Rights and Accessibility of Medicines During Biomedical Research in CIS Member Countries” organized by the Forum of CIS Ethics Committees and the Permanent Commission of the CIS International Commission for Social Policy and Human Rights in collaboration with the World Health Organization with the support of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan and the National Committee on Bioethics, Ethics of science and Technologies, completed its work in Baku.
The conference participants adopted a resolution based on the draft model law of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly “On Protection of Human Rights and Dignity in Biomedical Research”, and recommended to take extra measures for realization of this law in CIS countries.
According to Deputy Chairman of the National Committee on Bioethics, Ethics of science and Technologies, Prof. Rovshan Mustafayev, at the initiative of the Azerbaijan, the clauses relating to consolidation of CIS efforts in struggle against biomedical and clinical trials in the territories outside jurisdiction of the international law, and introducing of Bioethics course at higher educational institutions of the Commonwealth.
