KAZAKHSTAN PROPOSES SINGLE RAILWAY TARIFFS WITHIN COMMON ECONOMIC SPACE
Kazakhstan proposes that single railway tariffs be introduced within the Common Economic Space (CES), Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a meeting with railway veterans on Friday.
Possible losses Russia may sustain from the transition to single tariffs are incomparable with what Russia will earn due to a three-time increase in cargo transportation, Nazarbayev believes.
According to him, "it is necessary, above all, to create transport, energy and food unions within the CES framework."
"We should integrate, just as Europe does, instead of separating from each other," the president pointed out and added that "our countries benefit strategically from close cooperation."
