“Food security and rural development are important factors in ensuring peace, stability and sustainability around the world,” said vice president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union, FAO Goodwill Ambassador Leyla Aliyeva as she addressed an event marking the World Food Day.
Highlighting the importance of the World Food Day, Leyla Aliyeva noted that the existing problems in this area could lead to conflicts, starvation and mass migration. “Migration should not be mandatory, but voluntary option and states should invest in the development of regions in order to prevent millions of people from leaving their homelands,” said FAO Goodwill Ambassador Leyla Aliyeva.
The vice president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation also spoke about the activities of the IDEA Public Union.
