MEETING IN CENTRAL ELECTION COMMISSION
The independent press-center under the CEC reports, Panakhov informed the monitors on election system of Azerbaijan, principles of forming up the election commission, the activities of the CEC. For recent month, trainings and seminars dedicated to different issues related to the elections have been held in all regions of the republic.
Some 124-district election commissions, over 5 thousand polling stations embracing the whole territory of the country were created. Four out of 12 Presidential nominees withdrew their candidacy. Now, the rest 8 contenders are struggling for the Presidential chair.
Over 1000 observers representing OSCE, Council of Europe and CIS will be monitoring the elections. Besides, 40 thousand monitors will be present at district election commission during the voting; it means 7-8 monitors at each polling station. Besides, unlimited number of the representatives of mass media will observe the elections.
All conditions for free voting of electorate will be created. The polling stations will be provided with transparent ballot boxes.
Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kabardino-Balkar Republic Boris Zumakulov, speaking on behalf of the monitor group said they would be impartial and fair. Besides, we will study the experience of our Azerbaijani colleagues, he said.
