HOW THE SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOP IN GREAT BRITAIN?
On 17 February, first deputy of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Arif Rahimzadeh met the delegation of the “genesis initiative” UK organization. The parties held comprehensive talks on the item.
The guests were updated on the legislative base of the Republic for development of the entrepreneurial activity.
Member of the House of Lords of the British Parliament, chairman of board of the “Genesis Initiative” UK organization Lord Randall dwelt on ways of development of the small and medium entrepreneurship in his country. He said that development of entrepreneurship finally leads to high economic indices and opening new working places.
The guest also underlined that there are 3,8 million small and medium enterprises in Great Britain. Each of them is supported by state. There has been created the mechanism of developing entrepreneurship. Some 500 politicians directly promote development of efficient activity of the entrepreneurship. Politicians from numerous political parties have set 400 contact lines with entrepreneurs.
First deputy of Azerbaijan Parliament Arif Rahimzadeh noted that development of small and medium entrepreneurship is an important problem for Azerbaijan. There has been for many years a planning economy in the Republic. It was not possible to develop small and medium business in that time. All property was at the monopoly of state at that time.
In 90s of the last century, after re-gaining its state independence, Azerbaijan pursued expedient policy in the field of entrepreneurship as well. State property was gradually transferred to private sector. Small and medium sector was developed. Currently, share of the GDP makes up over 70%. In the industry, this surpassed 50%, while in the3 agriculture this figure is more than 90%.
Then, Mr. Arif Rahimzadeh spoke of the occupation by Armenia of the 20% of territories of the Republic, over one million refugees and IDPs, which as he stressed, really impedes development of entrepreneurship in the Country.
Noting that among the political parties there are no any discords related to development of the small and medium entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, he stated that there would be opened 600 thousand working places in the coming years. These will be mostly small and medium entrepreneurial objects. Also were touched the privileges created for the entrepreneurship in the Republic.
In the course of meeting, a number of other issues of mutual interest were focused as well.
