Mohamed Salah claims Thierry Henry record with breathtaking start to Liverpool season
Baku, December 3, AZERTAC
Mohamed Salah's season keeps getting better at Liverpool and the Egyptian has broken another Premier League record following his extraordinary performance during a 4-1 win against Everton on Wednesday night, according to The Mirror.
Just two days after being underwhelmed with his seventh place finish in the Ballon d'Or ceremony, Salah fired the perfect response as he netted twice against Everton to earn Liverpool their biggest derby victory for 39 years.
Salah has now scored an incredible 19 goals in as many games across all competitions this season, and even by his standards he is enjoying his best season yet.
To mark another incredible achievement, his flurry against Everton broke a long-lasting Premier League record set by Thierry Henry.
Salah has now scored 13 Premier League goals this season and is four clear of Jamie Vardy in second in the race for the golden boot, but the Egyptian's eight assists mean that he has had a hand in 21 goal contributions so far this campaign.
After just 14 league games played, that tally is now a new Premier League record at this stage of the season, surpassing Henry's record of 20 during the 2004/05 season with Arsenal.
At this stage of Henry's season 17 years ago, the Frenchman had managed 11 goals and nine assists for Arsenal, who went on to finish second that year after Jose Mourinho's Chelsea side stormed the league.
Henry finished as the golden boot winner that year with 25 league goals, but Salah is already just 12 off that total with 24 Premier League games still to play.
