Nakhchivan to host international chess tournament
Baku, April 19, AZERTAC
The Nakhchivan Open-2016 international chess tournament commemorating the 93rd anniversary of Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev will be held on May 8-10.
The 9-round tournament co-organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Chess Federation and Chess Federation of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan will bring together 60 players.
Players will be seeded in Tournament A if rated above 2250 FIDE (For Women above 2100 FIDE), while the lower rated players will compete in Tournament B. Both groups will be played over nine rounds of Swiss system.
There will also be Tournament C for U12 juniors.
