OSCE High Commissioner meets with Georgian MPs representing national minorities

The OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Henrik Villadsen who is on a visit to Georgia has met with the MPs representing national minorities in the Georgian Parliament.
Attended by the Azerbaijani MPs in the Georgian Parliament Mahir Darziyev, Azar Suleymanov and Ruslan Hajiyev, the meeting focused on a number of issues, including the integration of national minorities living in Georgia into society, educational, religious and cultural freedom.
MP Mahir Darziyev highlighted the history of multiculturalism in Georgia, saying that dialogue between the national minorities, communities and religious confessions is being developed in the country.
The OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Henrik Villadsen praised the lack of discrimination among national minorities in Georgia.
In his interview with AZERTAC, MP Darziyev described the meeting as fruitful, saying a number of significant issues, including bilingual education, was discussed during the meeting. "Henrik Villadsen said that they will assist in developing bilingual education, adding that the High Commissioner will finance the projects relating to this area," Darziyev added.
