SECOND WORLD KIRGHIZS CONGRESS

The second congress of world Kirghizs has taken place on the bank of Issikkul Lake, in Cholpon Ata city of Kirghizstan. The congress gathered 324 delegates from 22 world countries.

Addressing the congress, President of Kirhizstan Askar Akayev stressed that congress had historic significance. He also added that role of the 20th century in historybofb Kirghis people could not be overestimated. Exactly during this period, Kirghizstan was rising as a sovereign state and secured its worthy place among world countries.

The participants of the forum noted that the congress would go down in history as a vital event outlining the path of independent Kirghizstan’s development.
