TENTH ICO SUMMIT ADOPTED THREE RESOLUTIONS ON ARMENIA’S AGGRESSION AGAINST AZERBAIJAN
The 10th ICO summit focused on such issues as situation in the Mid-East, Iraq and Afghanistan. Three ICO resolutions were adopted in respect to the issues of Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, economic aid to Azerbaijan and destruction of historical and cultural Islamic monuments in the occupied territories.
ICO Secretary General strongly decried Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan and occupation of over 20 percent of Azerbaijani territories. This condemnation emerged in the resulting statement of the 10th ICO summit. ICO countries spread a statement urging to withdraw occupational forces of Armenia from Azerbaijani lands. ICO summit called on member countries to strengthen solidarity with Azerbaijan in order to support the right cause of Azerbaijani nation and rapid and full restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan was represented by delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Azerbaijan’s ICO representative, ambassador E. Arasli. Azerbaijan mainly reported on Armenia’s aggression and its sequences.
Presidency for the next 3 years (2003-2006) was transferred to Malaysia and it was decided to hold the next meeting in Senegal.
