'Azerbaijan is interested in expanding cooperation with Indonesia in energy sector'

Azerbaijan is interested in expanding cooperation with Indonesia in energy sector, said Deputy Energy Minister Natig Abbasov as he met with the newly-appointed Indonesian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Husnan Fananie, as well as the delegation including the analysts of the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting featured discussions on the issues related to the study of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia, investment opportunities in energy sector of Azerbaijan and exchange of experiences between the two countries.
Stressing the importance of the Azerbaijan-Indonesia Energy Forum which was held on February 1 this year, Natig Abbasov drew the audiences’ attention to the fact that Azerbaijan had fully ensured its energy security, turned into not only an oil-gas, but electric power exporting country. He said that huge projects were being implemented at the initiative of Azerbaijan to ensure not only the regional energy demand, but also in the European continent.
Underlining various projects which SOCAR implemented in Indonesia, Natig Abbasaov said that Azerbaijan is interested in expanding energy cooperation with Indonesia.
Members of the Indonesian delegation drew the audience's attention to the country's interest in investing in the oil sector, gas import and increasing the volume of oil exported, as well as the prospects for realization of these issues within the framework of current opportunities.
Natig Abbasov stressed the importance of signing a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of energy and mineral resources for expansion of energy cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.
The sides also exchanged views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
