€ 900 THOUSAND ALLOCATED FOR CASPIAN FISH RESOURCES PROTECTION
Regarding the aims of the project and terms of its implementation, Coordination Bureau of EU technical assistance program for Azerbaijan stated that aim of the two years project is coordination on the regional level of the scientifically- grounded plan on restoration of the sturgeons and other species of fishes of the Caspian Sea.
On the same time, some arrangements on strengthening of the national potential on control over fish resources of the Caspian Sea, as well as standardization and improvement of the reserve evaluation are planned to carry out in the frame of the regional works.
The Project is being realized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, as well as Ministries for Ecology of Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan engaged in.
The European Commission has to hold tender on determination of the contractors, who will realize the project, implementation of which may be launched early in 2004.
