AMERICAN-AZERBAIJAN ECONOMIC COOPERATION DEVELOPS
Addressing the participants, co-chairman of the working group, Minister of Finance of Azerbaijan Avaz Alakbarov dwelt on macroeconomic state of Azerbaijan, application of new budget system, and efforts to speed up socio-economic development, AzerTAj correspondent reports.
Then, co-chairman of the US working group, Coordinator for U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia, Ambassador Carlos Pascual, executives of State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan, other relevant Ministries, agencies and organizations made reports on banking financial reforms, anticorruption and antiterrorism, opportunities for rendering assistance to Azerbaijan.
In conclusion, Minister of Finance Avaz Alakbarov said AzerTAj correspondent: “Aim of our meetings held in Washington and Baku was to inform American side on reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, decrees and executive orders of the President, and laws. One of the important moments of our meetings at the international arrangements and meetings is to make the world aware of processes taken place in Azerbaijan. The meetings held showed that US representatives were satisfied with the works carried out in the Republic. US colleague, Ambassador Pascual was satisfied with GDP growth, transparency in the budget, increase of budget compared with GDP growth, foreign policy, improvement of investment milieu in the Republic.
