On August 16, in the day of start of the electoral campaign of the President of Azerbaijan Republic, solemn opening of the fountain was held in the center of Sumgait.

Welcoming the guests, head of the executive power of Sumgait Vagif Aliyev noted that pre-election campaign has officially started today. Irrespective of that, how many candidates and who they are, people of Sumgait have made their choice long ago. Because, social and cultural objects, enterprises of chemical, metallurgy, light industry and machine-building, housing estates - all these are related to the name of an eminent statesmen and public figure, great politician Heydar Aliyev.

Approving the manpower policy of the state, V. Aliyev noted that people of Sumgait highly appreciate appointment of Vice-president of PACE, President of NOC, deputy of Milli Majlis Ilham Aliyev to the post of Prime Minister.
