Another online seminar held under “Energy Talks” project

The Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) organized a joint online seminar with the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ASAU) as part of the “Energy Talks” project.
The seminar brought together Chairman of the AERA Board Samir Akhundov, ASAU Rector Zafar Gurbanov, as well as representatives of AERA, university faculty, researchers, and students.
In his opening remarks, AERA Chairman Samir Akhundov highlighted the objectives of the “Energy Talks” project, emphasizing the importance of collaborating with higher education institutions, particularly those involved in training specialists for the energy sector. Stressing the demand for highly qualified personnel across all areas, he noted the crucial role of youth in Azerbaijan’s continued development and expressed confidence that ASAU graduates would contribute significantly to the country's energy future.
Rector Zafar Gurbanov thanked AERA for organizing the seminar in collaboration with ASAU. He spoke about the university’s educational programs, noting that ASAU offers energy-related training at both bachelor’s and master’s levels. He also outlined the university’s international partnerships and its strengthened material and technical base supporting faculty and student development.
The event featured video presentations showcasing the activities of both AERA and ASAU.
The seminar continued with presentations by Elmar Gulaliyev, Head of the Agency’s Energy Liberalization Division, on “Transition to Green Energy: Reforms in the Energy Market,” and Rustam Mirzalizade, Head of the State Programs and Strategic Development Division, on “Energy Efficiency: Opportunities for Using Biogas in Agriculture.”
The seminar concluded with a discussion session.
