ARCHEOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN NAKHCHIVAN AUTONOMOUS REPUBLIC

The Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan is holding field research works in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The “Sharur” expedition chief, candidate of historical sciences Safar Ashurov announced, during the last archeological dig, they discovered a burial mound, related to the 3rd century A.D. and a burial place in stone sarcophagus of the end-2nd – early 1st century A.D. as well as a great number of loam dishes, decorations, such as rings, earrings and beads.
