AZERBAIJAN AMONG COUNTRIES, DYNAMICALLY DEVELOPING FROM POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC POINTS OF VIEW

The question of settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was the basic theme of the meeting of chairman of standing commission of Milli Majlis on the international relations and inter-parliamentary links, the head of Azerbaijan delegation at PACE Samad Seyidov with the vice-president of Political Committee of Assembly of the West-European Union, the rapporteur of the said international structure on questions of stability and safety in the Caucasian region, the deputy of parliament of Italy Марко Zakkera, taken place on September 20.

Prior to the meeting, the guest has visited the tomb of the national leader of Azerbaijan people Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honors. Then, he visited Alley of Martyrs and honored memory of the courageous fighters who have lost for independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

“Now the international structures perfectly know, that Azerbaijan is the country, undergone to aggressor. Nobody can deny, that our lands are under occupation of the armed forces of Armenia and that in our territories there was pursued ethnic cleaning. All this has found reflection in the report submitted by Terry Davis to PACE, Mr. Seyidov has told.

Azerbaijan is promptly integrated into Europe. Our country is member of the majority of the international organizations.

Last years Azerbaijan was included in a number of the countries dynamically developing both politically, and economically. At the same time, Azerbaijan has faced very difficult problems. One of them is the Armenia -Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict being the biggest barrier to stability and development in our region, for integration into Europe and general safety.

Then S. Seyidov has expressed his opinion related to the report of Terry Davis to the Political Committee of the Council of Europe. He has noted, that in the given document was recognized the fact of occupation of the Azerbaijan territories by the Armenian armed forces.

Having informed about the purpose of the visit to region of the Southern Caucasus, Mr. Marko Zakkera has told: “The international structure represented by me is engaged, mainly, in safety issues and defense. Our task consists in studying the given questions in regions. We already know the position of Azerbaijan. Though your country is far from the center of Europe, integration of Azerbaijan into the said continent is good intention. We want to study more in details the situation and present conditions in Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, also were discussed other questions representing mutual interest.
