Azerbaijan, bp sign MoUs

Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf met with Meg O’Neill, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of bp.
“We exchanged views on the company’s global business operations, its long-term fruitful cooperation with Azerbaijan, and the energy projects being implemented in the region. The discussions also covered further areas of collaboration between Azerbaijan and bp,” Mikayil Jabbarov said on X.
“During the meeting, documents were signed between the Ministry of Economy, SOCAR, and bp Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Economy and bp on cooperation related to the high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure, currently being developed under the Ministry’s leadership, envisages utilizing bp’s expertise to strengthen the Ministry of Economy’s HPC infrastructure with the aim of advancing the digital economy.
Additionally, the MoU between SOCAR and bp will expand energy cooperation between the parties and further reinforce Azerbaijan’s position as a global energy hub,” Jabbarov added.
