Azerbaijan debuts at UN Youth Delegate Program

For the first time, Azerbaijan was officially represented at the level of the UN Youth Delegate program within the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum 2026 in U.S.
President of the 2026 session of the Economic and Social Council Lok Bahadur Thapa and Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) Bjørg Sandkjær met with the young representatives as part of the forum.
ADA University students Aykhan Mammadov and Nilgun Mammadova became Azerbaijan’s first representatives in the UN Youth Delegates Program. They were also selected as youth delegates at the Economic Cooperation Organization Youth Forum held in Aghdam in 2025.
Over the course of one year, the youth delegates will participate in prestigious international events, including sessions held at the UN Headquarters, deliver speeches, and actively engage in the efforts of various committees.
