Azerbaijan, Indonesia explore educational cooperation

Kamal Abdulla, Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), met with Berlian Helmy, Ambassador of Indonesia to Azerbaijan.
The AUL rector highlighted the activities of the Indonesia Studies Center operating at AUL. He noted that Indonesia holds a special place in the Muslim world both as a state and as a country with a rich culture. Kamal Abdulla noted that the teaching of the Indonesian language and culture at the university, as well as the study of the country’s history and traditions, are of great importance for students.
The rector emphasized that Indonesian studies at AUL date back to 2007, highlighting the significant achievements that have been made in this area over the years. According to him, the university consistently promotes the cultures of various countries, including Indonesia, based on the principles of multiculturalism. Additionally, he briefed the Indonesian diplomat on the existing cooperation with a number of Indonesian technological and humanitarian universities, stressing the importance of expanding student and faculty exchanges.
Ambassador Berlian Helmy welcomed the interest shown in the Indonesian language and culture at AUL. The ambassador expressed his readiness to support the further development of educational cooperation between the two countries, the implementation of joint projects, and the expansion of inter-university relations.
