The Azerbaijani and Iranian customs authorities have discussed ways of easing border crossing between the two countries.

At a meeting held in the Azerbaijani district of Astara, the sides focused on a range of issues with the aim of ensuring a quicker and easier customs control at border checkpoints, including experience exchange involving X-ray operators, expansion of cooperation in dealing with violations of customs laws and combating illegal drug trafficking, and easing border crossing procedures for those traveling by their own cars.
