Azerbaijan, Islamic Development Bank explore cooperation

Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, met with a delegation of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), led by Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, Chairman of the IsDB Group.
Minister Mikayıl Jabbarov emphasized that expanding economic cooperation with the IsDB, including projects implemented in energy, infrastructure, water supply, and other fields, plays a crucial role in diversifying the national economy and developing the private sector.
IsDB Group Chairman Muhammad Al Jasser highlighted that such meetings are of great importance for strengthening partnerships and advancing innovative solutions that promote sustainable development across the group's member countries. These gatherings also serve as a vital platform for discussing global challenges collectively and identifying new opportunities for mutual growth.
The parties exchanged views on the preparatory work and scheduled events for the 2026 IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku, as well as the strengthening of partnerships in the economic and financial sectors and future cooperation prospects.
The 51st IsDB Group Annual Meetings will take place in Baku on June 16-19 this year. The events, set to take place as part of the meeting, will serve as a leading global platform for dialogue on development, and will gather finance, economy ministers, heads of international financial institutions and the private sector, as well as representatives of international organizations.
