AZERBAIJAN-ISRAEL LINKS TO FURTHER DEVELOP
Warmly greeted the guest, chairman of the Milli Majlis’ Standing Commission on Agrarian policy Eldar Ibrahimov said: “Warm friendly ties have been established between our countries. The role of Heads of States is great in development of our relations. After gaining independence, Azerbaijan established ties with Israel in some spheres. Visits of representatives of the state and government, parliamentarians and also travels of Azerbaijani delegations to Israel played a significant role in development of our cooperation”
Later on, Eldar Ibrahimov updated the guest on Milli Majlis activity, preparation for the upcoming presidential relations, Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts and Azerbaijan’s position towards resolution of the problem.
Having thanked for the warm welcome, Roman Bronfman said that he had recently been appointed as leader of Interparliamentary Israel-Azerbaijan links group. One of the major purposes of his travel to Azerbaijan is to inform on the activity and plans of the group, and exchange experiences. He stressed that Israel is interested in developing relations with Azerbaijan and highly appreciated role of parliaments to this case. He expressed confidence that presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held in democratic and fair environment, Azerbaijani nation would make a right choice, and relations between the countries would be further developed after elections.
The meeting was attended by chairman of the Milli Majlis standing commission on legal policy and statebuilding Ali Huseynov, deputies Eldar Gahramanov and Hikmet Osmanov, second secretary of the Israeli embassy to Azerbaijan Yakov Finkelshtein.
