AZERBAIJAN JOINING INTERNATIONAL CONVENTIONS
Chairman of the MM standing committee on issues of legal policy and state building Ali Huseynov presented the information on joining of Azerbaijan the Additional Protocol related to the Agreement on cooperation among the governments of the BSEC member-states on combat against crime, in particular, its organized forms. The Chairman noted that by joining the said document the Country would once again prove its irreconcilability in combat against criminality and terror and get international support in this combat. Along with it, Azerbaijan joins the Protocol with a clause, which says: “The Republic of Azerbaijan states that in connection with the occupation by the armed forces of Armenia the Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan Republic and adjacent regions and continuation in the present of the said occupation will not adopt the terms of the Protocol related to the Republic of Armenia”.
Then, Chairman of the MM standing committee of international relations and inter-parliamentary links Samad Seyidov made a statement on the signed in October 2002 in the city of Baku, Declaration: “O partnership between Azerbaijan Republic and Romania”. He underscored that approval of the said document is of great importance for the Country. The Document specifies: “… In accordance with the UN Charter and relevant documents of OSCE, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Romania, once again confirm their adherence to peaceful settlement of the conflicts on the base of respect and observation sovereignty, territorial integrity of states, and inviolability of their borders. Both countries state on their adherence to quick peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and fulfillment of the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and appropriate resolutions of OSCE…”
Deputy chairman of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic, head of the standing committee on issues of security and defense, Ziyafat Askarov spoke of the European Convention “On prevention of terrorism”.
As was informed, Azerbaijan joins the said Convention with a special statement and clause, and the Convention is attached by a sketch map of the occupied territories. As noted, the Republic of Azerbaijan cannot guarantee fulfillment of terms of the Convention at the territories occupied by the Republic of Armenia, until liberation of the occupied territories.
Then, chairman of the Commission made statement on the Agreement “On cooperation of the government of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the field of prevention of emergencies and elimination of their sequences”, “Memo on mutual understanding on cooperation between Azerbaijan republic and the Organization of material-technical equipment and assistance of NATO” related to support of material-technical equipment”, additional Protocol to the Agreement “On status of the armed forces between the NATO member-states and PfP Program member-states”, the Convention “On prohibition of the production and storage of bacteriological (biological) and toxin weapons and their elimination .”
