AZERBAIJAN, RUSSIA: NO UNSOLVED PROBLEMS
The head of the Azerbaijan government, welcoming the visitors, has noted, that after the intergovernmental contract was signed in 2000, between Azerbaijan and Sverdlovsk Oblast of the Russian Federation, positive changes took place in development of economic links. Commodity turnover has increased, new contacts were adjusted, relations between economic subjects restored.
Speaking on economic situation in the country, Mr. Artur Rasizadeh has underlined that only in the passed months of this year, growth of GDP has made 9,9 percent. As a whole, for last 5 years, this growth on the average made 10 percent a year. The government has brought to parliament a bill on the budget for 2005 with growth of GDP for 14 percent. As the Prime Minister has noted, but unresolved problems still remain, and from them the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorny Karabakh conflict as a result of which the Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of the Country’s lands and about one million citizens of Azerbaijan became refugees and IDPs. In such heavy conditions, Azerbaijan carries out large projects of world-scale as construction of the BTC pipeline after Heydar Aliyev, the gas main Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum.
Having thanked for warm reception, Eduard Rossel has noted that between Sverdlovsk Oblast and Azerbaijan, there were kind relations basis of which was founded in 2000 by the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. The Sverdlovsk Oblast on the economic parameters today holds one of the first places in the Russian Federation. In this subject of the Russian Federation, intensively goes modernization of economy, at the enterprises the modern equipment is installed. Though economic parameters of commodity turnover between Sverdlovsk Oblast and Azerbaijan good, at the same time, this parameter it is possible to treble and come on the level, which existed in the Soviet times, Eduard Rossel has noted.
Speaking about our compatriots living in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Edard Rossel has told that they are active part of the society and accept direct participation in development and prosperity of this subject of the Russian Federation.
The head of Oblast also has suggested opening consulate of Azerbaijan in Yekaterinburg.
